KEEPER

KEEPER was made for the performance art platform 

FESTAL FAVOURS in June 2017 and was a dynamic and interactive work that invited the townsfolk of the small Cotswold town of Charlbury to experience in a new way, the history of buildings in their town that had been shops since medieval times.

 

Clare and a large group of residents followed a guided tour by a local architectural historian viewing the old buildings.

 

Clare invited people to help her to write a shopping list and hang small tags with drawings of the produce once sold : toys, sausages, apples etc onto the door handles of houses that had been shops.

 

The work ended with everyone dancing in the street to 'Hey Big Spender' !
